Helpful Practice TipsHelpful Practice Tips

Dear Parents,
Sometimes it isn’t about how much your child practices, it is “how they do it”. Your child should not practice what they already know, they should be practicing what they don’t know. In a song that may mean only a measure or two not necessarily the whole song. They should practice a song until you can tell what tune it is without looking at the title (until it is fluent- reading without stopping and starting).
In their lesson book (Tradition of Excellence), there is a download in the very back of the book, www.kjos.com/ips. They will need to set up an account using the License Code provided for their instrument. After you retrieve the download the students can use the speaker button to listen to the song and play along with it.

Our songs for the concert are:
All Lesson 5 taped to the inside of their book:
5 Note Warm Up
Hot Cross Buns
French Carol
Jingle Bells
Good King Wenceslas
Jolly Old St. Nicholas
In there book:
Rain Rain Go Away p.8 #17
Merrily We Roll Along p. 9 #23

I hope this helps!!
Again, any questions don’t hesitate to email me: sking@d131.org
